Although they share Ivy-league educations and high dedication to serving their cardiac patients, the seven cardiologists of Hudson Heart Associates also have differences.
“We are all at different stages of our career, so we have a mixture of clinical experience and infusion of new ideas and new techniques,” said Dr. Roth.
“We each have a different specialty which provides patients with the expertise they need for every type of problem, from diagnosis to surgery. Each of us has our own niche,” said Richard Roth, senior cardiologist, whose specialty is echocardiography.
“I’ve always been interested in the use of physics in medicine,” said Dr. Roth. “Techniques such as echo and nuclear cardiology are a direct application of physics to diagnosing cardiac symptoms.”
The other doctors’ specialties are heart failure, nuclear cardiology, cardiac intervention, cardiac rehabilitation, patient care in the intensive care unit and diagnostic procedures, all of which ensure their patients receive top-notch care at every stage of treatment.
Among the services provided through the practice are non-invasive stress-testing with echo and nuclear advanced imaging, along with interventions for cardiac catheterizations, angioplasty and stent placement. The doctors also have access to 64 slice CT angiography, MRI and electrophysiology and follow their patients’ treatments through open heart surgery at Good Samaritan Hospital. As a result of their training experience, they also have a close relationship with the doctors at Columbia.
“We like to believe that we provide a very high level of quality in all aspects of cardiac care – that’s really our goal,” said Dr. Roth.
