HealthAlliance of the Hudson Valley® is a multi-campus health care system. It includes the Benedictine Hospital, Kingston Hospital, Margaretville Hospital, Mountainside Residential Care Center and Woodland Pond at New Paltz. It was named to a list of the Top 100 Critical Access Hospitals in the nation by the National Rural Health Association, based on metrics like quality, outcomes, patient perspective, affordability and efficiency. The Joint Commission awarded Margaretville Hospital with a “Gold Seal of Approval” for its laboratory services, which include general chemistry screens, hematology, coagulation, urinalysis, serology and microbiology tests and blood banking. The Auxiliary of Margaretville Hospital and Mountainside Residential Care Center received the “Auxiliary of the Year” award in 2011 from the Healthcare Association of New York State. The award recognized their work in providing health and wellness programs to the community regarding sleep disorders, breast health, summer injuries and diabetes, their robust Thrift Shop, coordinating American Red Cross blood drives, and raising money annually for new hospital equipment and supplies.
