For over 10 years, Dr. Matthew A. Hilmi, the head of this practice, has successfully restored esthetic appearance and functionality for his patients and helped them maintain optimal oral health. The doctor is an active staff member at both the Benedictine and Kingston Hospitals located in Kingston, New York.
Dedicated to the community, Dr. Hilmi has worked on numerous complex surgical management cases. His dedication extends to the world community as well. Dr. Hilmi has spent countless hours performing surgical procedures in South America repairing cleft lip and palate deformities.
A native of Kingston, and a member of a family of physicians who serve the Hudson Valley, Dr. Hilmi brings a wealth of education and training to his practice. After receiving his dental degree in 1990 from Farleigh Dickinson University School of Dentistry, he completed a six year oral and maxillofacial surgery residency where he served as chief resident.
As part of his educational training, he earned his Medical Doctorate (MD) from New York Medical College. Dr. Hilmi has attended hundreds of hours of continuing education courses and is a member of several state and national professional organizations including the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and the American Medical Association.
Dr. Hilmi has a special interest in the treatment of oral and maxillofacial trauma, pathology and oral surgery care of medically challenged patients. His practice provides a full range of oral and maxillofacial surgery services including repair of severe facial injuries like fractures or lacerations, management of life threatening oral infections, reconstructive jaw surgery, oral evaluation and biopsy, complicated wisdom tooth extractions and dental implants. He also provides sinus augmentation, crown lengthening and soft tissue and bone grafting.
To provide these services, the latest and most advanced technologies are used, including digital X-rays and charting, electronic insurance claims, the intraoral camera, electronic surgical instrumentation and optics. The use of digital x-rays provides a more comprehensive view of the oral cavity, jaw bones and teeth than available with traditional X-rays and decreases the amount of radiation by over 80 percent.
