“A pain-free, calming experience.” “Speed and efficiency.” “Red carpet treatment.” “Competent and caring staff.” These aren’t accolades from just one Rockland Endodontics patient, but rather a representative sampling of many that Dr. Garry Bey regularly receives from satisfied patients. An accomplished endodontist, Dr. Bey has completed over 16,000 root canals since beginning specialty practice in 1982.
“People in need of endodontic treatment should experience compassionate, gentle, and pain-free treatment,” advises Dr. Bey. “They should insist on the use of new technologies, including digital X-rays, surgical operating microscopes, non-tapered nickel titanium rotary instruments, and biomechanical irrigation using true apical negative pressure.”
Endodontic procedures are usually new to Rockland Endodontics patients, which makes the staff’s experience and credentials among their main concerns. Dr. Bey and his two associates, Dr. Monica Juneja and Dr. Linda Shin, have all earned their D.D.S. degrees, and have completed postdoctoral training in endodontics.
They are active members of respected professional organizations, including the American Association of Endodontists, the American Dental Association, and the Rockland County Dental Society. They stay on top of the latest developments in the field of endodontics through continuing education and research.
While conservative treatment options will always be considered first for any patient, Dr. Bey and his staff are able to provide a number of services beyond root canal therapy, including apexification treatment for a non-vital tooth with incomplete root formation, removal of separated or broken files, post removal, treatment of obstructions or calcifications, and root perforation repair.
Technology has improved the experience for Rockland Endodontics patients on many levels. It is now safer, through the use of digital X-rays which use up to 90% less radiation than traditional X-rays. Additionally, the use of surgical operating microscopes enhances the visualization of root fractures, helps locate additional canals, and decreases the risk of leaving infected nerve tissue behind.
Dr. Bey lectures nationwide on new and innovative techniques to improve root canal therapy success, including the use of non-tapered nickel titanium rotary instruments and biomechanical irrigation using true apical negative pressure. “These techniques are ground-breaking and have been clinically proven to clean canals more efficiently,” he says. “Biomechanical irrigation safely disinfects the root canal system and minimizes the potential for infection. We are proud to be known as one of the few endodontic practices in the tri-state area to utilize this technology on every patient that we treat.”
Dr. Bey graduated from the New York University College of Dentistry, where he earned a D.D.S. and completed residency training in endodontics. He also holds a B.S. degree in biology from Syracuse University. This fall, he is scheduled to lecture at Columbia University.
Dr. Bey enjoys traveling and is an avid golfer. Above all, he enjoys spending as much time as possible with his family, coaching his son’s basketball team and participating in programs at the JCC-Y of Rockland.
The team at Rockland Endodontics strives to make each patient’s care as simple and accessible as possible, by seeing emergency cases promptly, providing extended office hours, and offering flexible payment options.
