Veterinarians Jerry Scheck and Kim Buchanan, new owners of Hopewell Animal Hospital, care for pets with traditional and alternative veterinary medicine, including acupuncture.
“Acupuncture has a very long history with animal care,” said Dr. Scheck, and is used to manage pain, arthritis, allergies and some neurological problems, often in combination with Chinese herbal medicines.
In their practice the doctors attend to dogs, cats and pocket-pets as well as exotic pets, like reptiles, snakes and birds. Beyond routine check-ups and individualized vaccine programs, pets are treated for ailments ranging from ear infections to intestinal obstructions that require surgery. Pet dental care ranges from standard cleaning and polishing to root canal therapy and orthodontics
