Stationed along the Catskill Mountain Railroad’s Esopus Creek Route in Phoenicia, Ulster County, the Empire State Railway Museum provides exhibits, historical artifacts, scenic railway tours, and educational events for residents and visitors of the Catskills and Hudson Valley.
The Phoenicia Station was built by the Ulster & Delaware Railroad in 1899 and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It houses the Museum’s collection of antique railway cars and is the hub for all of its restoration projects.
The museum is open to visitors weekends and holidays from Memorial Day through Columbus Day, 11 a.m.-4 p.m.
