Historic Catskill PointCategories:
Essential Information
If you’re looking for a one-of-a-kind event venue, look no further than The Great Northern Catskills’ Historic Catskill Point surrounded by rich artistic and maritime history and dramatic views of the Hudson River and Catskill Mountains. The location includes an open-air cobblestone plaza, a waterfront park overlooking the Hudson River and Catskill Creek, floating docks and two restored 19th century buildings: the Freight Master’s Building and the Historic Warehouse. The former Freight Master’s Building is a vintage brick structure converted into a maritime museum. The building’s South Bay is ideal for smaller gatherings of up to 50 guests. The over 100-year-old wooden Historic Warehouse, which can hold up to 600 guests, has truss ceilings and a clear span covering over 9,000 square feet. Guests enter through two oversized barn-style doors that swing open onto the plaza. On the other side of the building are doors that can also be opened facing the Hudson River which provides an “open air” feeling and can be dressed up or dressed down for any ambiance or theme—from a rustic Western-style barbecue to an elegant formal wedding. Because the Historic Catskill Point is a carry-in, carry-out venue, you have the flexibility to tailor your event to match your own unique personal style. An event coordinator is available to help guide you through all the stages of planning the perfect event. There are also several vendors to select from on the website that are ready to turn your event into a day to remember. Together, the Freight Master’s Building, Historic Warehouse, and outside
