Outstanding packages and programs.
In its five-plus decades, the Windham Mountain Resort has attracted generations of families drawn by its friendly vibe, first-time skiers eager to brave the slopes, loyal intermediates who return season after season, and top-notch snow athletes who rave about Windham’s challenging black diamond runs.
It boasts 285 skiable acres with 54 trails (including five recently added; nine are open at night), and 97 percent snowmaking. Windham (its top elevation is 3,100 feet) even offers Snow Check vouchers for the rare days when the weather doesn’t cooperate.
Lessons are tailored to all ages and abilities: They have kiddie classes for little ones age 4 and up (plus supervised day care for ages 2–7 that can be coordinated with children’s lessons); programs for day skiers; and Windham’s enhanced learn-to-ski and snowboard programs, including a nifty three-day, first-timer program that includes rental equipment, a lesson, and a lift ticket for only $349. If you make it to the third lesson, you receive a brand-new Rossignol snowboard or skis with bindings.
More options: 50+ program for seniors that includes yoga to boost flexibility; and a three-day immersion session designed for females of all ability levels.
Snowboarders head to Windham’s six terrain parks, which are packed with more than 80 riding features: The parks for advanced boarders even provide their own triple lift and rope tow.
