The Dutchess Rail Trail
A 12-mile multiuse linear “park” that runs through the center of the county along the former Maybrook Rail corridor, passing through the towns of Poughkeepsie, LaGrange, Wappinger, and East Fishkill.
Esopus Meadows Preserve, Town of Esopus
A two-mile trail that parallels the Hudson and skirts through woodlands, alongside wetlands, and above the Klyne Esopus Kill.
The Wallkill Valley Rail Trail
Currently stretches 12.2 miles south from the New Paltz/Rosendale town line to Gardiner.
Putnam County Trailway
A 12-mile bicycle and pedestrian trail, mostly through Mahopac and Carmel; an extension to Brewster is planned.
