Style: Weekend Bags
Planning any weekend getaways this summer? Don’t leave town without one of these posh travel bags.
Though I love to travel, this full-time working schedule of mine just doesn’t allow for much jet-setting to foreign locales. So, throughout the year, I indulge in as many weekend getaways as possible. There are tons of great places in the Hudson Valley and the surrounding area that offer fabulous retreats for adventure and relaxation. This summer, I’ve already made plans to visit friends in Philly, D.C., and Boston — and of course, there will be plenty of long and (hopefully) sunny weekends down at the Jersey Shore. It’s always so exhilarating to break out of the usual routine, even if it is just for a couple of nights. And for me, it’s even more than that. You see, unlike most people, I actually love packing. From purchasing those miniature bottles of shampoo and packing them neatly away, to laying out all of my clothes and planning outfits, to shopping for new accessories and jewelry: these are all quintessential preparatory components to any escape, and I revel in each of them as my departure date approaches. But sometimes even seasoned packers forget to top it all off with the perfect accent: stylish luggage.
Recently, I invested in a great travel bag: a large weekend duffle that folds up very small, has lots of inside compartments, and — as an added bonus — is easy to clean (just wipe with a wet cloth). Its brilliant blue hue not only immediately gets me in the vacation spirit, but, for those times when I am lucky enough to be flying away, it stands out among all the tan and black bags at the baggage claim. And let’s face it, the only thing better than walking through that crowded zoo of an airport with a confident grin on your face (because you know you’re going somewhere marvelous) is looking great doing it. So, if you have a weekend getaway planned, you may want to invest in one of these great, colorful, practical weekenders. Bon voyage!
