Westchester Wine & Food Weekend Trivia Contest: Week 2 (May 23-27)

chef eric gabrynowicz

Our trivia answer is: Chef Eric Gabrynowicz!

You’ll find Chef Gabrynowicz under the toque of Restaurant North in Armonk, which was recently named “Top Newcomer” by Zagat. We hope there’s a prize for “Top Hog-Hacker”; Chef Gabrynowicz is slated to pull apart an entire, 210-pound roast pig at Westchester Magazine’s Wine and Food Weekend. Now that’s not something to snort at!
This week’s contest is closed; check in on Monday for our next bit of trivia. Or, see our Week 1 trivia question here

The contest:
Our sister publication, Westchester Magazine, hosts its inaugural Wine and Food Weekend on June 18-19. That’s two days of cooking demonstrations by local chefs, wine and beer tastings, delicious dishes from high-end restaurants, and more! We’ve got TWO tickets for you to go — try your hand at our weekly trivia question, and you’ll be entered into the drawing to win. Good luck!

The rules:
We’ll post a new clue every day — search hvmag.com or the Wine and Food Weekend site for the answers. Submit your guess before 12 p.m. (noon) on Friday to enter the drawing. Remember, you can only submit once!

Week 2: Name that chef!

  1. This week’s Westchester Wine and Food Weekend mystery chef (and Culinary Institute of America graduate) operates in Armonk, but is a Valley man through and through: He hails from Orange County, and currently calls Beacon home. Name our chef! (Not sure? Wait until tomorrow’s clue.)

  2. This week’s Westchester Wine and Food Weekend mystery chef cited dried cranberries as his “current obsession” when we last featured him in the pages of our magazine. (We’ll see if that’s still the case during his live cooking demonstration on June 19.) Name our chef! (Still not sure? Wait until tomorrow’s clue.)

  3. This week’s Westchester Wine and Food Weekend mystery chef was named a semifinalist for this year’s James Beard Rising Star Award (which was held May 9 in New York City). Name our chef! (Still not sure? Wait until tomorrow’s clue.)

  4. When we first met this week’s Westchester Wine and Food Weekend mystery chef (at our Hot New Chefs photo shoot way back when), he surprised us with an odd — but delicious — dish: a blue frittata, made with real Adirondack blue potatoes! Can you name our chef? (Hurry! We reveal our answer tomorrow.)
