A wine-filled weekend: Our sister publication highlights local fine dining

Calling all culinary enthusiasts: Westchester Magazine’s Wine and Food Weekend takes place this month, with four days of events to satisfy your every gastronomic craving. The weekend kicks off on Thursday with the Burgers, BBQ, and Beer Bash at the Kensico Dam Plaza. Live music keeps guests entertained as they sample finger foods, beer, and cocktails provided by 30 local eateries. Grand Tasting events, held throughout the day on Saturday and Sunday, feature the county’s best restaurants, which offer samples of their signature dishes; more than 200 wines from around the globe also are available to sip and savor. Kevin Zraly — noted wine expert and former wine director at Windows on the World — leads wine seminars, and a rolling program of live cooking demonstrations by well-knowned chefs is also on tap. The highlight of the weekend is the Saturday night Winemakers Dinner. This formal, six-course feast with wine is prepared by five distinguished local chefs, including X20’s Peter Kelly and Michael Gallina of Blue Hill at Stone Barns.
