Pleasant Valley Teen to Run Treetops to Rooftops 5K to Fight Kids' Cancer
14-year-old Jarrett Kuklis of Pleasant Valley joins an annual race to raise money for childhood cancer research
While runners are gearing up for the inaugural Walkway Marathon on June 13, Jarrett Kuklis of Pleasant Valley prepares for a different kind of victory: victory over childhood cancer. The 14-year-old will join those participating in the Treetops to Rooftops 5K on the Walkway Over the Hudson to benefit Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation, the popular nationwide organization dedicated to eradicating childhood cancer.
During Alex’s Lemonade Days from June 12 to 14, Kuklis is accepting pledges to help him meet his fundraising goal of $675. An additional pledge can be made by participants if he runs under eight minutes per mile.
Kuklis plans to donate the money he raises during Walt Disney World’s runDisney race in January 2016. (He’ll participate as part of ALSF’s “Team Lemon,” the Foundation’s official national athletic program.)
