Our Pick:

Returning to the New York State Museum is the annual Canstruction 2017, an artistic display of canned goods to benefit the needy in a unique way. Sixteen regional design teams will design and build giant-sized unique structures made entirely out of canned goods inspired by this year’s theme of “Go Team!” Visitors can provide support by dropping canned goods into the bins next to their favorite structures to help them win the coveted People’s Choice Award. All donations will be given to local food pantries. March 8-22. 9:30 a.m.–5 p.m. daily, closed Mondays. New York State Museum, 4th floor, 222 Madison Ave., Albany. 518.474.5877; www.nysm.nysed.gov
