The 411: The area around Brewster was settled 300 years ago by farmers looking for fertile land, and the town retains much of its rural charm, including a large Farmers’ Market held twice a week at the Village Municipal Offices. Brewster also boasts Putnam County’s only regional history museum, the Southeast Museum, located in the old Town Hall.
