The 411: Both the town and the village of Goshen have much to offer. The village, the county’s center of government, has a vibrant downtown full of shops, restaurants, and many 18th- and 19th-century buildings (including Town Hall, which was once a school where Noah Webster taught).
Every summer it hosts the Great American Weekend, which has been called the Hudson Valley’s liveliest Fourth of July celebration. Harness racing plays a big part in Goshen’s history — Ulysses S. Grant watched horse races on Main Street before the Civil War.
