of being much farther removed from the hustle and bustle of the city — and its access to the Taconic Parkway and Routes 684 and 84 make it an easy commute.

The town perches on the spectacular Hudson Highlands, and much of the area is preserved land, including two State Parks: Wonder Lake in the east and Fahnestock in the west, a portion of the Appalachian National Scenic Trail. More than a dozen lakes and ponds once lured summer visitors, but now are the playground for year-round residents who fish and boat here. Other activities include hiking, skiing, and camping in the surrounding meadows and woodlands.
