Best Boy (and Girl) Bonding Party 2014: Renegades Scout Sleepover

Renegades Scout Sleepover

Wappingers Falls

For the past six years, scouts have taken over Dutchess Stadium — but not the kind that the big league execs send. Some 300 Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts of all ages pitch tents right on the field for an annual All-Scout Event (scouts must be accompanied by chaperones and pay a nominal fee). “They come to see the game, enjoy the fireworks afterward, play kickball with Rascal the mascot, and then watch a movie on the big video board,” says Dan Paesano, ticket account executive. “It’s a great night for the community, plus we leave the blow-up slide and bouncy house up so they can work off some energy.”

Lights go out at midnight. The next morning, the scouts enjoy a mascot breakfast, with muffins, fruit, scrambled eggs, French toast sticks, and all the works. Not only is it an out-of-the-ordinary experience, it makes for a great story when asked, “What did you do over your summer vacation?” 845-838-0094; www.hvrenegades.com
