Apple season in the Hudson Valley is a wondrous time. Unfortunately, it’s also one that disappears in the blink of an eye. As crisp Galas and Jonagolds disappear from local trees and vibrant pumpkins take center-stage, we can’t help but wish for a way to savor fall’s favorite fruit just a little bit longer.

Where there’s a will, there’s a way! While the fruit may come and go from the branches of nearby orchards, apple treats abound throughout the Hudson Valley all season long. Stock up on these sweet treats now, then savor the golden ingredient of autumn whenever you need an apple-packed fix at home.

Apple Crisp Soap

While Best of Hudson Valley 2019 winner Sallyeander makes gorgeous soaps of all varieties, its limited edition apple crisp soap is the perfect way to suds up in autumn. A hyperlocal production, it uses organic apples from Fishkill Farms to moisturize, tone, and rejuvenate dry skin. To pair with the light apple scent, notes of Chinese cinnamon, nutmeg, and olive oil make every shower so much better.

Happy Friday!!! Do something nice for yourself this weekend!

Apple Candle

Hudson Valley Skin Care

Instead of stocking up on candles from a certain national bath and body retailer, keep it local with this fresh soy sniffer from Hudson Valley Skin Care. Made with natural ingredients, the soy-based candle favors notes of green apple with subtle pear. Burn it in the evening with a book in hand and a pair of fuzzy socks on your feet.

Maple Apple Butter

Hudson-Chatham Winery

Hudson-Chatham Winery might be known for its vino, but the Columbia County destination makes quite the delectable apple butter, too. A dairy-free product, the sweet spread takes its flavor from apples, cinnamon, cloves, and 100-percent natural maple syrup. It contains no added sugar, which means it’s perfectly acceptable to slather a hearty dose on toast for breakfast or as a topping on roast pork during dinner.

Dutch Apple Crisp

Krause’s Chocolates

Drop that boring old granola bag and pick up a pack of Krause’s Dutch Apple Crisp concoction instead. The autumnal essential is made with a mixture of dried apple, honey roasted sesame sticks, and yogurt-covered raisins. In other words, it’s the perfect snack to stash in your purse, in the car, in the cupboard, in…well, you get the picture.

P.S. Krause's also makes top-notch dipped caramel apples, in case you're in the mood to bite into a sweet twist on the real deal.
