For yoga practitioners, variety can be a useful tool. It can be too easy to master a familiar flow and stop pushing yourself and your limits with new and exciting poses and activities. Thankfully, these Hudson Valley classes will help you mix it up and transform your yoga practice into something entirely new:

Original Goat Yoga

Germantown
$35, twice per month

Thought not actually the first studio to offer goat yoga (that honor goes to the Gilberstville Farmhouse way out in New Berlin, NY) Original Goat Yoga offers twice-monthly classes on its scenic Germantown farmstead. Dawn R. Dotson guides a meditation-heavy practice that features interruptions by many tiny, adorable goats.

Pennings Farm Cidery

Warwick
$30, once per month

These once-monthly morning yoga classes are taught by licensed instructors, but enlivened by the presence of many baby goats provided by Totes Goats LLC. The hour-long vinyasa sequence is followed by a 30-minute photo session and meet-and-greet, with visits from pigs, birds, and whatever other adorable beings happen to be around. Register in advance.

June Farms

West Sand Lake
$40, Tuesdays

This special summer series mixes wellness, fresh food, alcohol, and more than a bit of bleating. One-hour yoga classes are followed by three complimentary tacos, a glass of beer or wine, and plenty of face-time with your cloven-hoofed friends.

Hudson Valley Kinders Farm

Clinton
$25

As part of its new "Yoga + Goats" programming, Hudson Valley Kinders Farm partners with certified yoga instructor Tiffany Simoncini to offer fun, furry sessions that aim to decrease stress and anxiety in a safe, welcoming space. Bring your yoga mat, then unwind for 45 minutes of posing and stretching. Afterward, cuddle with the goats, sip organic tea, and browse the onsite farm store.

Skye River Yoga

New Windsor
From $30

This special series of Stand-Up Paddleboarding (SUP) classes are held out on the Hudson River, where participants can find themselves meditating, flowing, and generally pushing their limits — all while balancing on a paddleboard! Private classes are also available for groups.

The Body Art Studio

Blooming Grove
Classes from $12, with package memberships from $40, all week

Offering both floor and aerial yoga, the Body Art Studio caters to all types, from relaxing beginners to those looking for a real challenge. Combining a suspended trapeze with traditional yoga poses, their aerial classes are offered multiple times weekly for exciting core workouts.

Ahimsa Yoga and Music Festival

Hunter Mountain
November 1-3

This festival of yoga and music returns this November for its seventh year. With relaxing folk, acoustic, and sacred music, as well as world-famous yoga teachers, dance parties, and meditation hikes, this should check all the boxes of your normal yoga practice — and much, much more.
