Everyone's focused on older kids heading back to school this week, but what about those of us still tending to infants and toddlers and generally adjusting to life as a caregiver? So whether you’re a new mom or dad, looking for the dish on diaper don’ts, a single parent in need of emotional support, or are just simply looking for a solid pediatrician, we recommend these local parenting groups. They'll have you covered from birth and beyond.

Moms Club of Monroe

About: A support group for moms who’ve left or adjusted their professional careers to be at home with their children, the club hosts a number of monthly activities, including play groups, park days, field trips, community service projects, a mommy’s night out, and more.

About: For new pops in New Paltz seeking solidarity while embarking into unknown terrain. This boys-only group will provide you with support and insight as you move forward into your baby’s first years.

Where: Multiple Westchester locations

About: Get your body back with a range of prenatal and postnatal training with baby-friendly stroller barre and stroller stride classes, or leave the kids at home and join in on intensive bootcamp-style workouts. Classes are held in public parks and spaces around the county. Fit4Mom also offers free Mom’s Club playgroups and nights out, open to fitness group nonmembers as well.

 

New Parents

New Baby New Paltz

About: On weekends, this go-to baby superstore offers affordable parenting social circles; one for both mom and dad on Saturday, and another just for moms on Sunday. Socialize with fellow first-timers by engaging in the weekly family discussion topic, while your baby plays and makes new friends. Morning tea and snacks are provided.
