Few things signal fall quite like pumpkin spice. Sure, there are leaf-peeping drives, farm harvest festivals, and corn maze meanders to celebrate the season. When it comes down to it though, pumpkin spice is the true herald of autumn’s much-anticipated arrival.

While some may say that nothing compares to a certain big-name latte, the Hudson Valley holds its own on the pumpkin spice front. Here are a few local products to satiate your #pumpkinspice cravings. If you spot any treats we missed while you’re out and about, don’t forget to snap a pic and tag us @hudsonvalleymag on Instagram.

Pumpkin Pie Spice Balsamic Vinegar, Scarborough Fare

257 Main St, Beacon; 8 N Front St, New Paltz

Don’t knock it until you try it! Pumpkin spice vinegar might seem like an unusual item, but the acid-spice combination balances itself surprisingly well. Mix it with oil to use as a dip for bread, drizzle it on top of a fall salad, or toss it with fruit for a zingy twist.

Pumpkin Spice Coffee, Donuts, and Ice Cream, Stewart’s Shops

Locations throughout the Hudson Valley

The Hudson Valley’s favorite convenience store doesn’t disappoint when it comes to fall flavors. The family-owned chain delights with pumpkin spice coffee, pumpkin donuts, and pumpkin pie ice cream. While you’re there, try out the apple pie ice cream, apple cider donuts, and apple spice muffins too.

Pumpkin Spiced Latte Cupcakes, The Cakery

1004 Main St, Fishkill

When it comes to cupcakes, The Cakery has the perfect formula for pretty much every flavor you could crave. This fall, the Fishkill sweet shop brings it with pumpkin spiced latte, Nutella cream cheese pumpkin, pumpkin, white chocolate pumpkin, maple cinnamon pumpkin, and pumpkin chocolate chip. Not enough pumpkin for you? The Cakery also does the flavor in cake pop and regular cake form.

Pumpkin Scones, Snickerdoodles, and Truffles, Samuel’s Sweet Shop

42 E Market St, Rhinebeck

Is it any surprise that Samuel’s has pumpkin spice down pat? The sugary sweet storefront channels all things fall in its pumpkin cupcakes and pastries, sour gummy pumpkins, and pumpkin spice gluten-free vegan muffins, to name only a few. Keep an eye out for other rotating fall specialties throughout the season as well.

Pumpkin Spice Latte, The Poughkeepsie Grind

107 Main St, Poughkeepsie

It wouldn’t be right to do fall in the Hudson Valley without at least one sip of a pumpkin spice latte. Luckily, The Poughkeepsie Grind is here to put a local twist on the fan-favorite drink. Get it with a healthy amount of foam and enjoy the taste of cinnamon, nutmeg, and freshly roasted beans.

Pumpkin Spice Latte and Waffles, Sweetbakes Café

2689 W Main St, Wappingers Falls

Although Sweetbakes is relatively new to the local food scene (it opened in June 2018), its picture-perfect pumpkin spice lattes, served in mason jars no less, will keep you coming back for more. Pair your drink with the Pumpkin Spice Waffle, a pumpkin-flavored waffle with caramel marshmallows and whipped cream. If you’re going to do pumpkin spice, after all, why not go all out?

Pumpkin Spice Tea, Harney & Sons

13 Main St, Millerton

Not a coffee drinker? Never fear. Harney & Sons is here to save the day with its signature Pumpkin Spice tea. The herbal red bush tea is heavy on the spice, so be prepared for flavorful sips of cinnamon and clove. It pours out as a bright red, making it a tasty companion on crisp fall days.

Pumpkin Spice Drinks, Underground Coffee & Ales

74 Vineyard Ave, Highland

In addition to its stellar lineup of fall beers, Underground serves seasonal coffee drinks at its Highland shop. Although the autumnal menu includes six specialty drinks, pumpkin lovers can home in on the three pumpkin-packed ones. Order Pumpkin Spice if you want to keep it classic, go for Caramel Pumpkin if you’re craving pie, or get the Pumpkin Spice Chai Latte if you like your PSL extra spicy.

Pumpkin Baked Treats, Irving Farm Coffee House

44 Main St, Millerton

Irving Farm may be a coffee powerhouse in the Hudson Valley and New York City, but we can’t stop thinking about the Millerton spot’s delectable pumpkin-flavored pastries. Keep an eye out for the pumpkin espresso bundt cake with a spiced rum glaze, harvest pumpkin scones with candied ginger, and gluten-free pumpkin bread. All, we might add, taste even better with a piping hot cup of joe.

When it comes to flavored coffees, Haven is a pro. That’s why it’s no surprise that the Newburgh spot has pumpkin spice and apple cider donut flavored coffees to inspire all the fall feels. Pair a cup with a fresh cider donut for the perfect afternoon snack.
