Few things signal fall quite like pumpkin spice. Sure, there are leaf-peeping hikes, farm harvest festivals, and corn maze meanders to celebrate the season. When it comes down to it though, pumpkin spice is the true herald of autumn’s much-anticipated arrival.

While nothing quite compares in popularity to a certain big-name latte, the Hudson Valley holds its own on the pumpkin spice front. Here are a few local products to satiate your #pumpkinspice cravings. If you spot anything we missed while you’re out and about, don’t forget to snap a pic and tag us @hudsonvalleymag on Instagram.

Pumpkin Bowl, Blend Smoothie and Salad Bar

Middletown, Mohegan Lake, New Windsor

Just when you thought you’d seen everything pumpkin spice season has to offer, Blend brings a new twist to the fall flavor front. Just for the season, the Hudson Valley eatery brings back its pumpkin bowl, a sweet, seasonal smoothie bowl with just enough spice to hit the spot. It’s the perfect treat when you want that #pumpkinspice fix without the whipped cream topping.

Pumpkin Cheesecake Cupcakes, Sweetbakes Café

Wappingers Falls

While we’re still holding out for the return of pumpkin waffles from Sweetbakes Café, we’ll content ourselves with the seasonal pumpkin spice cupcakes. Made by Jenny Jordan, the baking whiz behind the Wappingers Falls locale, the fluffy treats hit the spot when paired with one of the shop’s special campfire lattes.

Pumpkin Cold Brew, Iron Gate Café

Albany

During a time when decadent lattes with sky-high whipped cream towers dominate the Hudson Valley’s java scene, cold brew almost sounds basic. But, then again, maybe that’s because you’ve never had the brew at Iron Gate Café. A true testament to the ingredients of the season, the Albany spot’s brew gets its smooth, sweet consistency from rich pumpkin cream. As if that wasn’t wonderful enough, the drink receives a fresh Cider Belly donut as a finishing touch. ‘Tis the season!
