Henry’s at the Farm Restaurant Brings “Local” to Life

Henry's at the Farm is a jewel of a restaurant, tucked away in the Hudson Valley's orchard and wine country, at Buttermilk Falls Inn + Spa. Henry's 2018 offerings include a three course Winter Prix Fixe ($29.95) through March and Monthly Pairing Dinners in collaboration with wineries, distilleries, brewers and distributors, hosted in the beautiful Buttermilk Barn, or on Buttermilk's vast, tented reception patio overlooking the majestic Hudson River.

At Henry's, contemporary American cuisine and sublime craft cocktails are only steps away from Buttermilk's own Millstone Farm. Fresh eggs and honey, from Millstone's aviary and apiary make their appearance on the menu and in craft cocktails, year-round. In season, fresh produce from both Millstone's garden and orchard and from neighboring farms, is delivered to Henry's inspired kitchen daily, making its way to your table at lunch and dinner. 


Organic farming a top priority 

Henry’s works primarily with those who practice organic farming and humane animal husbandry. Cheese, meats, and poultry come from nearby farms such as Coach Farm, Taliaferro Farms, John Fazio Farms, and the seventh generation owned and operated Hepworth Farm.

An inventive menu features a fresh selection of large and small plates from casual burgers and hand-cut fries to refined New American dishes. Dazzling starters, such as Black Muscovy Duck Breast with Mission figs and aged balsamic, or Sweet Potato Gnocchi with cranberry, mascarpone and hot apple cider glaze.


From barn-to-bar

The concept of farm-to-table is an integral part of Henry’s signature cocktails, taking full advantage of the organic herbs, vegetables, and fruits grown right at its own Millstone Farm—at Henry's, it's known as "From Barn-to-Bar." Notable examples include the Pear Collins with locally sourced vodka and Millstone Farm pear and rosemary puree, and the Apple Butter Bourbon Ball with Millstone Farm apples and Minard Farm's Cider. During cold weather months Henry's resurrects classic hot cocktails such as The Hot Toddy, made with Millstone Farm honey.

Henry’s kitchen and floor staff prepares and presents extraordinary meals in an environment that embraces the spirit of their food. It is at once elegant and rustic, refined, yet relaxed with a field of sculptural wine jug lighting, custom-made wall coverings, and delightful views of Buttermilk’s Swan Pond.



Breathtaking grounds and views 

Local comes alive in this bucolic setting, where a pre-dinner stroll is always in order. Henry's encourages diners to stroll the grounds of Buttermilk's 70-acre Hudson River estate before or after dinner. A network of trails leads to breathtaking views of the Hudson River, flowering gardens, bubbling brooks, the property’s impressive namesake waterfalls and enchanting ponds. At Millstone Farm, diners pass through organic orchards, and a lush kitchen garden. Don't miss our Animal Rescue Sanctuary, where our captivating family of rescued livestock have made Millstone Farm their home—heritage chickens, peacocks, angora goats, llamas, alpacas, and miniature donkeys!

Henry’s at the Farm is the realization of a long-held dream of Buttermilk Falls Inn + Spa owner Robert Pollock to establish a dining destination restaurant on the property—one that serves the local community, as well as the inn’s guests and whole heartedly embraces the locavore movement.
