Your Kid Could Act in a Major Movie Filming in the Valley
Local kids who can play baseball are encouraged to audition for the upcoming film 'Twelve', to be filmed in Brewster and other areas of Putnam and Dutchess County.
A golden opportunity lies for your baseball loving child right here in the Hudson Valley. Producers of the upcoming film project, Twelve, are looking for local child baseball players to appear as extras in their film. Children who are between the ages of 10 and 13 are welcome to audition.
Auditions will take place on Sunday, June 25 from 4 to 6 p.m. at Mt. Scolpino Park in Brewster. Children who are auditioning are expected to bring their bats and gloves.
Film producers stated they need about 100 young baseball players of all skills, levels, sizes, shapes, and ethnicities to take part in their film. Extras are expected to appear in various scenes of the film, and should be available for all filming dates.
“If you’ve ever stepped onto a baseball field before, you’re qualified for the film,” reads the casting information sheet. Filming will take place mostly in Brewster, however other parts of the film might take place in Putnam and Dutchess County depending on field availability and stability. Filming will take place between July 24 and August 15.
Casting personnel stated that there will be speaking roles for extras: If interested in a speaking role, it must be indicated on the extra audition application.
The Hudson Valley Film Commission stated that producers are also looking for family, friends, and relatives of the players to be extras in the film as well.
For the most part, extras will only be needed for one day of filming. However, 40 players that are around the age range of 12 and 13 will be selected for 3 to 4 days. The roles for this film are unpaid; food and drinks will be provided.
The film is looking to hire a local crafts service person, script supervisor, and a sound mixer.
