Whether you’re still starry-eyed honeymooners, or many years into matrimonial bliss, nothing says, “I love you,” quite like a decadent meal. This Valentine’s Day, celebrate your special someone with a culinary feast so good, it could make even cupid fall in love.

 

Columbia

Swoon Kitchenbar

Aptly named, given its intimate, rustic vibe, this Hudson brasserie is the perfect spot to woo your date over a four-course menu of farm-to-table fare, sourced from local vendors like neighboring Kinderhook Farm. Among other options, the $79.95 per person special features duck heart wild mushroom toast, roast quail with merguez, cous cous, and date vinaigrette, and a poached rhubarb vanilla panna cotta. And though Swoon is typically closed on Tuesdays, it’ll be open for flirtatious libations on Feb. 14.

Dutchess

Al Fresco Ristorante

Located right on Fishkill's Main Street in a cozy home dating back to the 1700s, this foodie favorite will be serving a special Valentine’s dinner menu Feb. 12-14.  Choose from Italian-style selections like creamy potato gnocchi with crispy prosciutto cotto and peas, goat cheese stuffed chicken breast with garlic and Italian figs, and pistachio-crusted rack of lamb. And if great food isn’t enough, complementary long-stemmed roses will be distributed to all couples.

The Roundhouse

This Valentine’s Day, dig into four courses of finesse with choices like a sharable rack of lamb for two, black truffle and chestnut agnolotti, and La Belle Farm foie gras, served with pink peppercorn brioche and beet textures. And what would Valentine’s Day be without some champagne? Finish off your meal with a champagne sabayon almond cake and crystalized rose petals, or your choice of other decadent desserts. Prix-fixe menu offered Feb. 14, only; $98 per person.

Orange

Blu Pointe

It doesn’t get more romantic than dinner on the water. This riverside restaurant exudes drama and elegance with dimly lit chandeliers, exposed brick walls, and an enormous 3,200-bottle glass temperature-controlled wine room. Cozy up by the stone fireplace to a sharable land and sea plate, featuring a 20oz king cut prime rib, 8oz South African lobster tail, Duchess potatoes, and veggies. Feeling some fusion? Try the Szechuan sesame and peppercorn tuna with chickpea-garlic puree, wakame slaw and a citrus ginger glaze. Fare is a-la-carte, and it’s good.

Vinum Café

Situated on the historic Brotherhood Winery in the original nineteenth century building, traditional French fare is served alongside the vineyard’s own pours and select other picks. The $45 three-course candlelit dinner menu is inspired by famous lovers, beliefs, and quotes. For example, the potato and leek soup starter, believed to be created by Madame Pompadour to win the heart of King Louis XV; the hand cut prime rib with roasted red bliss potatoes, an ode to the Elizabethans who considered the root veggie, "A great furtherer of venus, her pleasure, and love delight;" and the chocolate mousse with raspberries, in honor of English physician Henry Stubbs, who warned that "Chocolate is provocative to lust." The dinner will also feature a live jazz trio and dancing. 

Can’t make it out on a weeknight? Vinum will also host a $25 three-course brunch and wine pairing on Sun., Feb. 12 and lunch on Mon., Feb. 13.

Putnam

Dish Bistro & Wine Bar

This drink-and-dinner for two will feature five set courses and fine wines from France, Italy, and Spain – all for $100 per guest. The evening kicks off at 5:15 p.m with a welcome reception, hosted by special guest and wine pro, Brian Mitchell. Enjoy hor d’eurves like smoked Gruyere and fleur d’isle ham puff, oyster on the half shell, and beet soup shooters until dinner is served at 6 p.m. Following fare includes courses of tuna tartar, perigord truffle and egg yolk ravioli, seafood bouillabaisse, and wrack of lamb with polenta and a caper beet salsa crudo. Finish off the night on a sweet note with a dark chocolate palet d’or cake and smoked caramel gelato.
